CANTIGNY GOLF SELECTS ADVERTISING PARTNER Two by Four Chosen to Create Advertising for Suburban Golf Course
June 25, 2004 -- Cantigny Golf of Wheaton, Illinois has enlisted Chicago advertising agency Two by Four to create and develop a new advertising campaign.
The campaign will target frequent and leisurely golfers through television, radio and print advertising to increase the number of rounds being played at Cantigny. Two by Four will position Cantigny as both a championship level course that is challenging to play and as an affordable country club like experience. The ads will be incorporated into an existing media schedule on CLTV, ESPN, TNT, USA, and WGN radio, plus several golf publications and local newspaper.
Situated on the estate of former Chicago Tribune publisher Robert R. McCormick, the courses are intermingled amongst twelve lakes, two creeks, plenty of trees and flowers, and over 70 sand bunkers. Golfers may select their course by combining two of the three nine-hole layouts. Since its opening, Cantigny has been consistently rated as a "Top Public Course" by magazines such as Golf Digest, Golf Magazine, and Travel and Leisure Golf. Cantigny opened in 1989 fulfilling a pledge in Colonel McCormick's will promising his estate would "serve as a source of recreation, instruction, and welfare for the people of the state of Illinois."
